Tucson AUTO INSURANCE (AZ)

Tucson is located in the American Southwest just sixty miles north of the Mexican border. Divided into numerous ethnic and traditional neighborhoods, Tucson is home to a diverse population with a rich culture and history.

The Santa Catelina, Rincon, Tortolita, Santa Rita, and Tucson Mountain Ranges surround the city, which spans a total 195 square miles. The city is located in the Sonoran desert directly on the Santa Cruz River which floods during significant seasonal rains.

Despite its hot desert climate, Tucson’s high elevation brings heavy annual precipitation, most of which occurs between June and July or monsoon season. This period is characterized by high humidity, intense thunderstorms, and heavy rainfall known to cause serious flash flooding.

Although solar power has not been sufficiently explored in the city, Tucson is considered to be a prime natural location for a solar energy community. Massive loss of groundwater has occurred in recent years, prompting water conservation initiatives such as consumption-based pricing for residential and commercial water use, and reallocation.

Tucson’s economic development is centered on the University of Arizona, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base and US Army Intelligence Centers in the area. Manufacturing and tourism are other principle industries in the area. Traditional festivals, historical museums, and a strong prevalence of entertainment and the performing arts draw millions of tourists to the city every year.
