Spokane, Washington is a city of 200,000 spread about an area of about 58 square miles. It is the seat of Spokane County and is the second largest city in the state and third largest in the Pacific Northwest region behind Seattle and Portland, Oregon. Due to its location, Spokane is at risk to earthquakes and volcanoes though the latter is relatively rare occurrence.
