The weather in San Antonio, which is part of the humid subtropical climate zone, is normally dry and humid but depends largely on prevailing winds. The city is prone to brush fires and severe droughts. Flash flooding is also common during periods of heavy rain making the weather extremely variable and unpredictable. While overall temperatures are fairly steady, there is not a well-defined wet or dry season to predict periods of drought or flooding.
