Odessa, Texas is a city of around 101,000 spread about an area of about 37 square miles. It is the seat of Ector County and is the principal city of the Odessa, Texas Metropolitan Statistical Area. Odessa can sometimes experience strong violent storms with tornadoes along with the effects of the occasional remnants of hurricanes which blow in from the Gulf.
