Newark AUTO INSURANCE (NJ)
Newark is the largest city in New Jersey. With a population of nearly 280,000, Newark is less than 10 miles west of Manhattan, New York and is the primary container shipping facility for the Port of New York and New Jersey.
Newark is located in a humid subtropical climate and is characterized by cold winters and warm to hot humid summers. The nearby Atlantic Ocean moderates the weather to an extent meaning the winters are warmer than other cities at its latitude. Precipitation is fairly generous and evenly spread throughout the year. Snowfall is generally light, again due to the Atlantic Ocean’s influence.
Newark is a bustling city with plenty of places to work and play. The city is the third-largest insurance center in the country after nearby New York City and Hartford, Connecticut. While Newark has declined somewhat from its former glory days as an industrial epicenter, it still is home to many industries particularly its southern region known as the Industrial Meadowlands.
Newark has a long checkered past prompting a documentary detailing its considerable history of violence, poverty, and corruption. To date, crime still remains a consistent and notable problem. Overall, while violent crimes has dropped in recent years, they are still very high and property crimes remain quite elevated and both categories are way above the national and state averages.
