Little Rock, Arkansas is a city of just over 191,000 and is the largest city in the state covering an area around 117 square miles. Little Rock is the seat of Pulaski County and derives its name from a small rock formation on the Arkansas River, which was originally used as landmark for maritime navigation.

Public bus transportation is provided by Central Arkansas Transit Authority (CATA), which operates more than 20 fixed routes and 3 express.

Little Rock is subject to a humid subtropical climate with hot humid summer and mild to cool winters. Precipitation is generally spread evenly throughout the year though summer is usually the driest season. The city can sometimes experience strong violent storms with tornados along with the effects of the occasional remnants of hurricanes which blow in from the Gulf.
