Lee’s Summit, Missouri is a city of around 84,000 spread about an area of about 62 square miles. It is located in Jackson and Cass Counties and is the sixth city in the state. Lee’s Summit is named after one Dr. Lea who kept a farm on the city’s highest point and was murdered by Kansas Jayhawkers in 1862.

The city is accessible from several roadways including Interstate 70 and I-470, US Highway 40, US-50, as well as State Route 150, SR-291, and SR-350. Public transportation is provided by The Metro, which is operated by KC Area Transportation Authority.
