Jacksonville AUTO INSURANCE (FL)
Jacksonville is the largest city in the state of Florida and the thirteenth largest city in the United States. Located on the banks of the St. Johns River, the city stretches over 750 square miles making it largest city in the United States with regard to total land area. It is divided into six major sections: Greater Arlington, North Jacksonville, Northwest Jacksonville, Southeast Jacksonville, West Jacksonville, and the Urban Core.
Though the climate is generally mild falling into the humid subtropical category, Jacksonville is affected by daily thunderstorms in the summer. This is due to high humidity as well as the rapid heating of the land contrasting with cool air off the Atlantic Ocean. Jacksonville’s location on the east coast of the US also makes the city susceptible to hurricanes and tropical storms.
Jacksonville is home to many theaters and cultural centers such as Theater Jacksonville, the Florida Theater and the Amity Turkish Cultural Center. Annual events and attractions bring in millions of tourists every year.
Jacksonville ranks as the tenth safest of thirty-two US cities with a population of half a million or more. While overall crime is relatively low, the city has the highest murder rate in Florida with a disproportional number of homicides.
The city is home to the largest deep-water port in the south, and the second-largest port on the East Coast of the United States. Jacksonville is also advanced in rail, air, and highway infrastructure. The economy as a whole is focused on distribution, financial services, biomedical technology, consumer goods, information services, manufacturing, and insurance.
