Fort Worth AUTO INSURANCE (TX)

Fort Worth is located in the southwest United States and the northern part of Texas. The city is a rapidly growing cultural, business, and economic center in the region and has been ranked among the fastest growing cities in the country.

Found in what is known as the Cross Timbers region of the U.S., Fort Worth lies between the heavily forested east and Great Plains. As a part of the Grand Prairie, the city is a thriving part of the historical and culturally rich American West. Tourists flock to Fort Worth each year for a wide variety of historical attractions as well as a strong presence of arts and entertainment.

Fort Worth is highly susceptible to severe thunderstorms, producing large hail and tornados. In 2000, an F4 tornado tore through the city destroying many buildings including the Bank One Tower, a dominant feature of the city’s skyline.

Fort Worth has rich oil and natural gas reserves under its soil, making the city a historical center for the industry. More than 1000 natural gas wells are found in Fort Worth tapping into the Barnett Shale. Recent advances in horizontal drilling technology have made these reserves more accessible, bringing more wealth to the city and many citizens of Fort Worth receive royalty checks for mineral rights.

The city has historically been high in crime with nightly shootings, knifings, muggings and brawling cowboys. These violent crimes led to Fort Worth being considered part of “Hell’s Half Acre.” Today, crime rates are low and largely controlled, contributing to Fort Worth’s ranking as one of the most “livable communities” in the United States.
