Flint, Michigan is a city of around 125,000 spread about an area of about 34 square miles. It is the seat of Genesee County and is the seventh largest city in the state. Flint’s economy is rooted in the automotive industry and is the birthplace of General Motors and United Auto Workers but is probably best known for the film “Roger and Me”.

Flint is served by Interstate 69, I-75, which runs concurrently with US Highway 23, I-475 running through downtown as well as Michigan Highway 21 and M-54. Flint is part of a humid continental climate so summers are generally warm to hot and winters are cold with moderate snowfall. The city experiences significant precipitation year round and is greatest during the winter months when snowfall can be quite heavy. During late spring and early summer, the region can see violent thunderstorms with severe thunder and lightning storms, torrential rain, hail, and tornadoes.
