Edmond, Oklahoma is a city of around 81,000 spread about an area of about 88 square miles. It is located in Oklahoma County and is part of the Oklahoma City metro area. Edmond is considered one of the top places in the nation to live and is the sixth-largest city in the state.

During late spring and early summer, the region can see violent thunderstorms with severe thunder and lightning storms, torrential rain, hail, and an occasional but rare tornado.
