Many fire and police jobs have also been eliminated though crime rates in Colorado Springs are still low when compared with cities of comparable size. Property crime numbers far surpass violent crimes. Various gangs are present throughout the city and remain largely uncontrolled, leading to a significant number of gang-related crimes.
