Cincinnati AUTO INSURANCE (OH)

Located in the Midwestern U.S., Cincinnati is the third-largest city in the state of Ohio. It is located in the southwest corner of the state close to the bordering states of Kentucky and Indiana. Historically the first inland American boomtown, Cincinnati was eventually surpassed by other Midwestern cities but still retains its rich culture and history.

Cincinnati experiences cold winters and hot humid summers with almost no weather extremes. An average of twenty inches of snow falls each winter, generally accumulating between December and February.

The city experienced a gradual decline in violent crimes until 2001 when a violent race riot occurred. Cincinnati saw a drastic increase in violent and property crime rates following it causing it to be ranked as the twentieth most dangerous city in the United States in 2005. Since then, overall crime rates have been up and despite increased police attention numbers have yet to fall below their pre-2001 levels.

Much of the city’s crime is concentrated in a neighborhood known as Over the Rhine. Although the area has been identified as the largest, most intact historical district in the country with a thriving art center, crime and poverty are rampant. Once an area of German immigration, it is now a violent low-income area, raising the city’s crime rates disproportionately.

Still, Cincinnati has a thriving Midwestern economy and a number of universities and educational facilities that draw visitors to the city. Every year, tourists also come to Cincinnati for sporting events, namely the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals as well as annual cultural events such as the Ohio Valley Jazz Festival and the Thanksgiving Day race.
