Charlotte AUTO INSURANCE (NC)
Charlotte is located in North Carolina halfway between the Appalachian Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. Nicknamed the Queen City or The Hornet’s Nest, Charlotte has a rich culture and has played a significant role in American history. The city is divided into 199 neighborhoods surrounding central Uptown Charlotte. Millions of tourists flock to the city each year to experience the lively culture and see a number of attractions, most notably Freedom Park.
Despite its location along the Catawba River with the Norman, Wylie, and Mountain Island Lakes nearby, Charlotte does not have access to any significant bodies of water. The city has thus evolved to be a major center for highway, rail, and air transportation. This contributes to Charlotte’s high levels of air pollution. Charlotte lies directly in the path of subtropical moisture moving northeast up from the Gulf of Mexico. The city thus receives a great deal of annual precipitation year round, occasionally experiencing thunderstorms of flash flooding.
Charlotte is a large U.S. financial center as well as the second-largest banking center in the country. The energy sector is also growing rapidly and the city is referred to as “The New Energy Capital.” The city has consistently been ranked among the best places in the country to live for lifestyle, opportunities, crime rates, affordability and outdoor appeal.
Crime in Charlotte is relatively low. While the city was ranked the 27th most dangerous of 338 U.S. metropolitan areas, crime levels are still consistently below national averages, and continue to decline.
