Arlington AUTO INSURANCE (TX)
Located in the northeast part of Texas, Arlington is just twelve miles east of Fort Worth and twenty miles west of Dallas. Its large population is spread out over almost one hundred square miles of land along the Trinity River.
With a humid subtropical climate, Arlington is one of the hottest cities in the country during the summer months with warm temperatures continuing through the winter. Cold fronts occasionally affect the city, which is not protected by any mountainous terrain to block out Arctic winds.
Spring often brings severe thunderstorms to Arlington as cold fronts from Canada collide with warm humid air from the Gulf Coast. Lighting, torrential rain, hail and tornadoes are known to accompany these storms. Tornadoes are the biggest natural threat to the city, which is located near the heart of Tornado Alley.
Arlington is frequently affected by air pollution from a local hazardous materials incineration plant as well as nearby Dallas, which has one of the highest air pollution levels in the country. Automobiles are the only viable source of transportation in many parts of the city adding exhaust to the pollution.
Tourists make their way to the city every year for Arlington’s rich culture, history and entertainment sector. Sporting events at the Texas Rangers Ballpark, Cowboy Stadium, and the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame are typical attractions as well as numerous local theme parks and performing arts centers.
Though overall crime rates are more or less consistent with national averages, Arlington’s property crime rates are extremely high. Theft, burglary, and automobile theft are among the highest, with high numbers of robbery and assault as well.
